How I Work

Flexible Engagement Models Tailored to Your Needs

Leadership Mascot - My Approach

My Approach: Strategic, Collaborative, AI-Aware

There is no one size fits all solution in technology leadership. Every company has its own challenges, ambitions, and culture. I begin with a deep understanding of your context so that every recommendation is grounded in reality and aligned with your goals.

I work alongside your teams, not above them. I bring clarity to complexity, help teams align around what matters, and turn strategy into execution. Whether shaping a technical roadmap, modernizing legacy systems, or integrating AI across the SDLC, I focus on driving impact without creating dependency. I lead through transparency, collaboration, and momentum with a servant leadership style that empowers your team to grow and deliver.

My 4-Step Process

1

Assess

I audit your platform, team, and AI maturity with honesty and depth. No assumptions. Architecture, technical debt, security posture, delivery process, and team capability - all evaluated and documented with prioritized findings.

2

Design

I define the architecture and roadmap before any code is written. Every technical decision is framed in terms of business impact, risk, and the timeline that matters - whether that is a PE exit window, a Series B close, or a product launch.

3

Build

Platforms and agents built with production rigor: testing, observability, rollback plans, and SLOs. I stay hands-on through delivery, not just advisory. Changes ship with measurement baked in so improvements are visible and reportable.

4

Govern

Audit trails, DORA dashboards, FinOps reporting, and regular executive briefings. Outcomes are tracked against the roadmap. The board and operating partners always have a clear, honest picture of where things stand.

The First 90 Days

DAYS 1-30

Assess and Align

Deep dive into platform, team, and current state. By day 30 you have a prioritized technology roadmap, cost estimates, and a clear recommendation on where to focus first for maximum business impact. No ambiguity about what needs to change and why.

DAYS 30-60

Execute and Instrument

First milestones underway. DORA baseline established so velocity improvements are measurable. Quick wins identified in the assessment begin showing results. The team experiences what changes when leadership is present and accountable.

DAYS 60-90

Momentum and Measurement

Velocity improvements visible in the data. Board reporting active with metrics tied to the value creation plan. Team has clarity on direction and confidence in execution. The foundation is set for compounding improvement through the rest of the engagement.

Common Questions

What does a typical engagement start look like?

After an initial conversation to align on scope and goals, I begin with the assessment phase. Within the first week I am talking to engineers, reviewing architecture documentation, reading code, and evaluating the delivery process. The first formal deliverable is typically a written assessment with prioritized findings and a recommended roadmap, delivered within 30 days.

How do you communicate with executives and boards?

I provide written executive updates on a weekly or bi-weekly cadence depending on the engagement. Updates focus on business outcomes, not engineering activity. What shipped, what metrics moved, what risks exist, what decisions are needed. I also attend board and operating partner calls when the engagement warrants it.

Do you work remotely or on-site?

Primarily remote. Most of the work I do is effective through video calls, async communication, and direct access to your systems and code. For PE engagements or situations where on-site presence would meaningfully accelerate the assessment or build team trust, I am open to on-site time. We discuss this as part of scoping the engagement.

How is success measured?

Success is defined at the start of every engagement in measurable terms: deployment frequency improvement, uptime targets, cost reduction goals, toil reduction percentage, or specific business milestones tied to the technology roadmap. Every engagement has clear OKRs that both parties agree to before work begins. If we cannot define what success looks like, we are not ready to start.
